The Art of Creating Jewelry with Dried Flowers

My name is Elena, I am the artist behind Drop of Nature Jewelry.

Creating jewelry with dried genuine flowers is a long but incredibly special process. Each piece I make is a reflection of nature’s beauty, carefully preserved to be worn and cherished forever.

It all starts in my garden, where I lovingly grow flowers, enjoying the peaceful time outdoors. Along with my two little daughters, I also venture into the forest to gather wildflowers, berries, and mushrooms. These nature walks are filled with wonder and discovery, making the process even more meaningful.

Once I’ve collected my treasures, the preservation process begins. I use a special silica sand to dry the flowers while maintaining their natural beauty and vibrant colors. This step is crucial, as it ensures that the delicate details of each flower remain intact. The drying process takes patience, but it’s rewarding to see the flowers retain their original splendor.

When the flowers are completely dry, they are ready to be transformed into jewelry. This is the most creative part—designing a new necklace, a unique pair of earrings, or an elegant pendant. Each piece is carefully arranged to highlight the flowers’ natural charm, making every creation one of a kind.

Once the design is set, the most intricate part of the process begins—encasing the flowers in resin. This step requires great precision, as the first layer of epoxy must be poured carefully to avoid bubbles, which are my biggest enemy! After pouring the first layer, I wait 12 hours before applying the second one, and then another 12 hours for the third layer. This final layer creates a beautiful domed effect, bringing the flowers to life in a stunning 3D display. Watching this transformation unfold is one of the most satisfying moments in the entire process.

Every piece of jewelry I create holds a story—a journey from the garden and forest to a beautifully preserved keepsake. It’s a labor of love, passion, and patience, and I hope each person who wears my jewelry feels the same connection to nature that inspired its creation.
